Meet our Osteopaths
Emma Poole DO
Emma established the practice in Southfields in 1991. She graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in central London returning there to teach for many years, she currently regularly lectures in Europe.
Emma treats a broad range of conditions and patients, often generations of the same family. She treats using mainly structural osteopathy: looking to improve the function and mobility of the musculo-skeletal system. Her core principle is treating every patient as an individual and takes great care to adapt the treatment to your specific needs and lifestyle.
She enjoys working with patients looking to optimize their exercise regime or leisure activity, enabling them to maintain good mobility and strength to help reach their body’s full potential and prevent recurring problems. Helping your body to work better for you. She also has a particular interest in working with patients whose physical problems may stem from underlying stress or anxiety.
Emma is a Member of the Southfields Business Forum, helping to support the community in which she grew up. She has teenage children and enjoys figurative sculpture and sailing with her family.

Many of our patients are referred by their GP or come directly to us because they are looking for relief from pain and discomfort. This may be from back pain and sciatica to postural problems from work or driving, tension headaches, or sports-related injuries.
As osteopaths we use our hands to improve the soft tissues; muscles, ligaments and joints in order to restore function and improve the posture of your body and to alleviate symptoms to help you reach your body’s optimum potential.
Osteopaths are highly trained healthcare professionals who are recognised by the British Medical Association (BMA) as a discrete clinical discipline and fully qualified to diagnose and treat independently. We are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOSC)
If you would like to find out more, we are happy to talk to you about your health and how you may benefit from osteopathic treatment.
Here at Southfields Osteopaths we plan treatments to suit your individual needs and offer advice on posture, self-help and appropriate exercises in order to prevent your symptoms reoccurring.
By taking a detailed medical case history, we consider your symptoms in the context of your health and your lifestyle. Then we can work together to devise a plan on how to prevent re-occurrence of the injury or strain to include tailored exercises to maintain the benefits of your treatment.
